Hey I picked this job and I see what they gon be doing but I got a question if anyone can answer. Is this a infantry job?
@grant5829 8 wks 2 days
does anyone know how long ait is for this mos
this is my mos going to ft leonard wood going to fort sill for basic how is it anyone been there? im leaving the end of august
this is my MOS now, i was 21 J in the Guard and they grandfathered me into Echo
(shug)ill figure it out
NOOO flipatit11. unless you enjoy this job prior to enteing the army do not count on doing it to often. and if your going airborne count on doing it never
@ishmal010391 ill see u there i leave May 26
Im leaving April 19th 2010 for BCT in Fort Leonard Wood. I also do my mos training for this mos there as well… Wish me Luck!! I’ll be active duty for Army.
Hah, my friend just graduated there. Said it wasn’t that hard at all. But then again, it didn’t get the nicknames “Slackson Jackson” & “Relaxin Jackson” for nothing. It should be a lot of fun minus the heat. I don’t know where you’re from, but 95 degrees is a lot worse than it seems with 90% humidity.
@samburger077 yes the hrs on each equipment u operate will be logged and u take that to your local operating engineers union hall where youll be given cradit and be a journy man not a apprentices so get all the hrs u can and run as much diffrent pieces of equip u can
ait is at fort leonard wood in mo. it is 10 weeks plus two weeks after you graduate in a thing called bft which is battle focus training. its pretty cool though.ait is way better than basic but it was hot when i was there and some of the walks on ta 244 got a little sweaty. but overall its a kick ass mos. stay strong and motivated.And remember, FIRST TO FIGHT LAST TO FALL ENGINEERS DO IT ALL!!!!!!
im also really looking forward to this i will be leaving for basic june 22 to fort jackson south carolina
Heard alot of changes came when they changed up the 21E series. How long is AIT now? I’ve heard about 6 weeks. No one seems to know. Has anyone went through AIT recently confirm or deny this?
this is my MOS….im taking basics in fort jackson south carolina this summer..
But let’s say you signed a 3 year contract. That’s 9 weeks BCT & 12 weeks AIT, so 21 weeks of training (about 5 months). I get that AIT only teaches you the basics, but what about the 2 years, 7 months that you’re actually working the job. Wouldn’t that be something to take with with you to the civilian world? I’m not trying to argue, I really am asking because I’m considering this MOS & want to know if it will leave me with a hopeful civilian career if I don’t stay in for 20 years.
Hence “Army MOS 21E”. MOS = Military Occupational Specialty.
i just signed my contract for this yesterday…im really looking forward to doing this.
i’m national guard 21 echo! is pretty good!
How long is 21E AIT now? Back in the day it used to be 11 weeks I’ve heard. Now around 8 or something?
this had nothing to do with a 21E light machine gun
I’m a 21E. if you’ve never operated equipment before your not going to be able to go out and get a job doing this after going to ait. ait just gives you the basics for operating. by no means will you be able to go out in the civilian world and be a skilled operator.
your 21 echo? im leaving for basic in 2 weeks for that m.o.s how do you like it so far
ya to missouri for a i t
I’m an Engineer company commander. You can be sent anywhere. Join the Army because its the right thing for your life, not because of where you may or may not get sent.
have you operated anything yet like bulldozers and stuff
